The 1949 Sugar Bowl was the 15th edition of the college football bowl game, played at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday, January 1. Part of the 1948–49 bowl season, it matched the fifth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners of the Big Six Conference and the third-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels of the Southern Conference (SoCon).
