Alfred Wright was an American Presbyterian missionary who established the Wheelock Mission and Seminary among the Choctaw in Indian Territory. He translated religious texts into the Choctaw language and served as physician, teacher, and minister from 1819 until his death. Wright worked with his wife Harriet at Wheelock from 1832 until 1853 despite chronic health problems.
