Bassam Z. Shakhashiri is an emeritus professor of chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was the first holder of the William T. Evjue Distinguished Chair for the Wisconsin Idea. An active advocate for science education, he is the author of multiple books of chemical demonstrations.
