Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, also known as the Lion of Cintra, is a fictional character who is one of the central figures in the Witcher franchise, including the novels, the TV show, and the video game series. Ciri's father Emhyr var Emreis was the heir to the throne of Nifgaard, one of the kingdoms in the novel, while her mother Pavetta was a princess of Cintra. Before her birth, she was adopted by the witcher Geralt of Rivia, to whom she is tied by destiny. In the novels, the TV show, and the Witcher 2 video game, Emhyr originally searches for Ciri in order to secure his power in Cintra, but eventually replaces her with a lookalike "false Ciri". In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, false Ciri has vanished and the central plot is about Geralt's and her father Emhyr 's search for the real Ciri, which was criticized as implausible in a Screen Rant review. In the novels, she is described as a bisexual woman, and she engaged in same-sex romance in the Netflix show. The Witcher IV video game is focused on Ciri as the playable protagonist.
