Flintshire, also known as the County of Flint, was one of the thirteen counties of Wales that existed from 1536 until their abolition in 1974. It was located in the north-east of Wales. Flintshire was first created in 1284 by the Statute of Rhuddlan, until all counties were re-organised in 1536 into the set of thirteen.
