Iraqi National Congress

Wikipedia Overview

The Iraqi National Congress is an Iraqi political party that was led by Ahmed Chalabi until his death in 2015. It was formed as an umbrella opposition group of majority Feyli Kurds and Shia Arabs, with the aid of the United States' government following the Persian Gulf War, for the purpose of fomenting the overthrow of longtime Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. Today the party is mainly run by Feyli Kurds after Aras Habib was elected as the general secretary of the party in 2015.
