Atlanta is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Georgia, with a metropolitan area of 6.4 million. As of 2026, Atlanta is home to 125 high-rise buildings over 300 feet tall, and has the fifth most in the United States after New York City, Chicago, Miami, and Houston. 18 of these buildings are skyscrapers taller than 492 ft. Atlanta's skyline is the second largest in the Southern United States, after Miami. The tallest building in the city is the Bank of America Plaza between Downtown and Midtown Atlanta, the city's only supertall skyscraper. It was completed in 1992 at a height of 1,023 ft. Of the 20 tallest buildings in Georgia, 18 are located in Atlanta; the other two, Concourse Corporate Center V & VI, are in the neighboring city of Sandy Springs.
