With the third greatest number of skyscrapers in any city within Australia, Brisbane with a population of 2,987,000 and land area of 15,842 square kilometres, boasts some of the tallest buildings in the country, including the city's current tallest, the 274.3 metres (900 ft) Brisbane Skytower, completed in 2019, which is also the largest residential building in the Southern Hemisphere.
