The newly conferred degree is regarded as a mark of seniority rather than an additional postgraduate qualification. The postnominal letters "MA" are followed by the abbreviated Latin name of the conferring university: Oxon (Oxford), Cantab (Cambridge), or Dubl (Dublin).
