The statutory ban on same-sex marriages was repealed by the Nevada Legislature in 2017, and the constitutional ban was repealed by voters in 2020 by 62–38 percent. Polling suggests that a large majority of Nevada residents support the legal recognition of same-sex marriage, with a 2024 Public Religion Research Institute poll showing that 72% of respondents supported same-sex marriage.
