Wikipedia Overview

SS Kirovograd was a steel-hulled cargo steamship. She was built in Germany in 1929 for Dampfschifffahrts-Gesellschaft „Neptun“ as Hercules. In the Second World War, the Kriegsmarine requisitioned her twice: in 1940, and again in 1941. In 1945 the United Kingdom seized her as war reparations, and renamed her Empire Dovey.
